Serious Food For Thoughts

A member from a forum I frequent has suddenly been posting a lot about Blessing from God. The way she relates her experience and her belief not only turns non-believer off, it's offending to other Christians too. That's how I feel.

This is taken from her blog:
Last night, XXand X were talking about the place XXX was keen in. Lord gave XX a vision of a house covered by wave. He also gave her the vision of XXX’s future condo and a shop that He is blessing XXX and her hubby. After the chat, Lord disclosed to me the money He is blessing her, instead of the S$2.4 mil, it is going to be $S4.8 million, Hallelujah!!!

She was telling a friend of mine that God is going to bless her a BMW and $50k to maintain it. She also tells this friend that one of their church pastor is going to get a plane from God. She also wrote it in her blog:
It was only recent 2 days that Lord told me that He is giving me 50K for my family trip to Israel and Sweden and maintenance of the car.

Sorry, but I can't stop wondering if she is on any medication or what?

I know God gives us blessing. And He works in it many splendid ways. It may be monetary manner, or blessing us with healthy body and happy family. He will also guide us in our daily lives helping us making the right decision etc etc etc. And we will get it when we get it - in His time.

But, her encounter is totally not co-herant. And how can you be so sure this 'vision' is from God? Can someone enlighten me what's going on with her?

Stephen said that her church is very, very rich. From what he knows, her church is going to get a developer to build their church. And their budget is S$20 million.

On the note of religious faith, I want to share what our sermon said last week.
It was about giving. He said to have truly happiness, you need to put down every earthly things. Eg. the 5Cs. If you have anger in you, resentment in you, desire for earthy materials, you will never be happy. And when you are not happy, nothing you do will ever be right. When you are doing the chasing of earthly material, it will be never ending. So instead, Give. Giving doesn't mean giving money. Giving can come in the form of voluntary work, caring, ... etc etc.

So instead of asking God for this car and that condo or that, why don't we give.
